Scoring

Veracity News reports two metrics on every outlet that we cover: the Bias Score and the Veracity Score.

The Bias Score uses data from Media Bias Fact Check, Ad Fontes, and AllSides. We combine all of those scores and set them on a scale of -3 (far left) to 3 (far right) with in the middle, representing the least bias possible.

The Veracity Score includes Bias Score data and incorporates factualness data. This is important because some outlets may exhibit some bias but still use highly factual information in their reporting. The Veracity Score rewards for factual or unbiased reporting, and punishes for unfactual or biased reporting.
